Core Difference Analysis
The core differences between electric heat shrink machines and steam shrink machines mainly focus on the heating principle and
the extended applicable scenarios, packaging effects, costs and other aspects. In terms of heating principle, electric heat shrink
machines heat air through heating tubes and rely on circulating hot air to attach the shrink film to the product, with fast heating
speed but prone to local uneven hot air flow; steam shrink machines generate saturated steam through a steam generator and
heat the shrink film at a constant temperature, with precise temperature difference control and more uniform heating. In terms of
suitable products, electric heat shrink machines are more suitable for non-heat-sensitive products such as hardware, electronics,
daily chemicals and e-commerce packages, without worrying about high temperature damaging the products;steam shrink
machines are specially designed for heat-sensitive, scratch-prone products or products with high aesthetic requirements, such as
food, medicine, glass bottles and products with printed labels, which can effectively avoid scald marks and scratches and protect
the product appearance.
In terms of packaging effect, electric heat shrink machines are more efficient, but due to uneven hot air, slight wrinkles or local scald marks may occur; steam shrink machines have more advantages in packaging effect, with flat and wrinkle-free film surface after
shrinking, tight sealing, no scald marks and higher aesthetics, especially suitable for products with strict requirements on packaging
appearance. In terms of energy consumption and cost, electric heat shrink machines are mainly power-consuming, with low initial
investment of about $1000-$3000 and simple maintenance processes, suitable for enterprises with limited budgets; steam shrink
machines consume both electricity and water resources, with relatively higher initial investment of about $1600-$5000, but they
are more energy-saving and environmentally friendly with lower energy consumption in long-term use, suitable for enterprises
with long-term mass production.
There are also differences in site requirements and applicable industries. Electric heat shrink machines do not require stable
water supply, only need to ensure a dry site, with small floor space and easy installation, and are widely used in hardware, electronics, daily chemicals, e-commerce logistics and other industries; steam shrink machines require a stable water supply and drainage
system, and the site needs good ventilation, with a slightly larger floor space than electric heat shrink machines, more suitable for
food, medicine, beverages, cosmetics and other industries with high requirements on packaging compliance and aesthetics.
